Betsy Mahoney is an immigration attorney, disability and women’s rights advocate, health policy analyst and former community organizer. She began her Maine career in 1989 for the Family Planning Association. She has been an active participant in the Coalition for Housing and Quality Services since its inception, and has served on the boards of the Maine Women’s Lobby, Maine Housing and the ACLU of Maine, among other groups. Betsy has three adult children, including a son with autism and intellectual disabilities who lives in a group home in Windham. She and her husband live in Cumberland.
