It is with great sorrow that ASM recognizes two recent losses.

On April 26, 2010, a man and his adult son passed away in Gray, Maine. The son was reported to have Autism Spectrum Disorder. [ More Info ]

Stanley L. Greenspan, Child Psychiatrist, has died of complications of a stroke.

Dr. Greenspan was widely recognized for the development of the DIR/Floortime method of intervention for children with autism. [ More Info ]

Kim Peek "Rain Man" has died of a heart attack

The Proposed Revisions to the DSM-V for 2012

Proposed Revisions: Aspergers Syndrome Disorder and Pervasive Developmental Disorder not Otherwise Specified (P.D.D.-N.O.S.), will be folded into a single broad diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. [ More Info ]
